The Winery of Good Hope is built around three principles: sustainability, ethics and responsibility, embodied in its philosophy, "Drink Well. Do Good." Based in Stellenbosch and crafted by the same dedicated team as Radford Dale, the range combines thoughtful winemaking with a strong commitment to people and planet.
The Winery of Good Hope was founded on a spirit of optimism and the philosophy of "Drink Well. Do Good." - a belief in the extraordinary potential of South Africa, its vineyards and its people. Created by the Radford Dale team as a place to explore new ideas, it has become a testing ground for vineyard sites, meso-climates and innovative techniques, always with the same uncompromising focus on quality and individuality that defines the wider house.
Based in Stellenbosch in the Cape of Good Hope, it is more than a winery - it represents an alternative way of thinking, being and doing. From the slopes of the Helderberg, wines are made with traditional, natural viticultural and winemaking methods, supported by fully accredited environmental, ethical and social-upliftment practices.
That progressive thinking extends beyond the vineyard. A 2024 relaunch introduced recyclable packaging and lightweight 410 g bottles as part of a broader philosophy of care and responsibility. Sustainability is viewed as an ongoing process, encompassing how the land is farmed, how people are treated and the materials used throughout the value chain.
The Winery of Good Hope also supports the Land of Hope Educational Trust, established in 2007 to create educational opportunities and now chaired by Cathy van Zyl MW, Africa's first Master of Wine. It gives "Good Hope" a purpose that extends beyond the wines - investing in people, opportunity and the future.

The Winery of Good Hope was built around a simple idea: make delicious, well-crafted wines that remain accessible, and let every bottle do some good. Since 2007 the Land of Hope Trust has channelled proceeds into high-quality education for the children and dependants of Black employees, and nearly twenty years on it is chaired by Cathy van Zyl MW.
The wines follow the same restraint as their Radford Dale siblings: hand-picked parcels, spontaneous ferments, minimal skin contact and little or no new oak, so each bottle is approachable, elegant and suited to any occasion.
