Wine Makers - the wine show - high res for printing_ Francois and Anton Malan -9.jpg

A little on the winemaker..

Rainbows End is all about family. The farm was purchased in 1978 by Jacques Malan and today the winemaking is a join of effort of brothers Francois and and Anton Malan.

Anton learnt his trade in France working in the vineyards and cellars Chataeu Croix Beausejour in Montagne St. Emillon under the guidence of Olivier Laporte. Returning to Rainbows End in 2002 Anton has been the winemaker and marketeer ever since. Anton is joined by his brother Francois who is the viticulturist and winemaker.

Francois and Anton believe in natural winemaking seeing each season what the vines give them rather than following the same techniques annually. They strive to create wines which combine both new world and old world influences to make full bodied wines that are very accessible within two years of harvest, but that can also be aged.
